Moonstone Types and Colours
Moonstone comes in various shades and can be found in various parts of the world. We even find Moonstone here in Australia! Similarly, it can be found in Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Burma, India and the United States. Most commonly, Moonstone is white with chatoyant colours which dance across the surface of the stone. This is known as Rainbow Moonstone or White Moonstone. It can also be found in Black, Green (very rare) and Peach colouring. Some find that the different colouring will affect the healing properties of the crystal however as they are the same crystal at the base, we generally go by the overarching Moonstone meanings.
