Azurite Crystal Healing Properties

Azurite, also known as K2 Jasper, is believed to assist with opening and clearing the third eye and crown chakras. Similarly, it may also stimulate psychic and intuitive ability, aligning inner vision to its higher guidance. It has also been known to aid in non-judgmental discernment, as its believed to assist in understanding the true motives in others as well as oneself. Azurite has also been known to assist with learning, memorising, writing and other tasks that focus on orderly presentation or integration of information. It may be a wonderful stone to use when in need for testing or negotiating situations. Azurite may assist to identify and overcome the fears that may be perpetuating untruthful or deceptive behavioural patterns. It is said to be helpful in all issues of the brain and head, including migraines and vertigo.

History and Uses

Azurite has been revered by many ancient cultures including the Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Chinese, Mayans and Native Americans who traditionally used this stone to connect with the Spirit realm. Its name is derived from an old Persian word “lazhward” meaning blue colour. For thousands of years it has been commonly utilised for its vivid blues, ground to powder and added in both paint and dyes. This practice was prominent in medieval European paintings in the 12th century.

Geological Description

Azurite is a copper carbonate mineral with a hardness of 3.5 to 4. It frequently appears in combination with Malachite, another copper carbonate. Azurite is found in Australia, China, Chile, Russia and the USA.
