Chalcedony Crystal Healing Properties
Chalcedony is believed to absorb negative energy and promote happiness, harmony, peace and joy. Also, it is thought to help banish hostility and negative emotions and thus may increase one’s self-esteem. Many have used it in meditation to help balance the body, mind, emotions and spirit.
History and Uses
Chalcedony ranges in colour from white to grey, greyish-blue, or brown ranging from pale to nearly black and has a waxy lustre, and may be semitransparent or translucent. Varieties of this stone include Agate, Carnelian, Aventurine, Jasper, Onyx, Bloodstone, Tiger Eye, Sardonyx and Chrysoprase. Many Native American tribes use it for sacred ceremonies and named it a “stone of brotherhood” because it brings energies of loving kindness and goodwill to all.
Geological Description
Chalcedony is a silicon dioxide, cryptocrystalline variety of Quartz. It forms from watery silica gels at relatively low temperatures and is found all over the world.
